A little about me.....

Thanks for stopping by my new site. The old site was getting tired so I moved to a blog format vs a "flashy" image site. So a little about me. I reside in Hamilton with my wife and children. Similar to you, we are a pretty busy family with lots of running around. Both our children are active in after school sports which you will see reflected in my photography.

I have been shooting for over 25 years, with a major focus in the last 5 years. I have a dual carerer. I am a Director of Marketing for a large consumer packaged goods company in Canada and I also have my photography business. Though you might not see the direct relation at first, there is one. The years of experience in the CPG industry has provided me with a extensive knowledge of product development and positioning in the retail world. I use this experience within my photography business as it allows me to choose products that fit todays style and have the appropriate costing. The product lines and the print options I provide are built on a simple guideline: Good:Better:Best.

You need to make sure your choices are aligned with your budget and your specific needs.

Colleen & Brian’s Engagement Session|Hamilton Wedding Photographer Geoff Carruthers’

Well this afternoon I took off to Guelph to meet up with Colleen and Brian for their Engagement Session.I would call this a cross border engagement as Colleen is Canadian and Brian is American. They met at the University of Purdue where they are both studying. They will be married next year in Guelph, Colleens home town. We actually shot the “E” session at two different locations. The first stop was the U of G and the second spot was the U of G’s arboretum. The setting is a bit nostalgic as its was where Colleen first graduated from before heading off to Purdue.
