London Devils Hockey Tournament

Ventured down to London Ontario to attend the 20th annual Devils Hockey Tournament. This all girl event was allot of fun for our group and well organized. I took my camera gear along and was able to shoot a couple of the games behind the bench. I used a Nikon 300mm 2.8 Nikon lens for both games which is a stunning lens. Its so big i had to use a monopod just to keep the weight balanced. If you are watching the Vancouver Olympics you will see those monster lens that the event photographers use. So here are a few frames of the 300+ that were taken with that monster of a lens.

I have shot Vinnie and his mom and dad a few times over the past few years. In fact his mom’s maternity shoot was one of my first a few years ago . Today we met @ 270 Sherman for a quick session for a few family images.

Well this afternoon I took off to Guelph to meet up with Colleen and Brian for their Engagement Session.I would call this a cross border engagement as Colleen is Canadian and Brian is American. They met at the University of Purdue where they are both studying. They will be married next year in Guelph, Colleens home town. We actually shot the “E” session at two different locations. The first stop was the U of G and the second spot was the U of G’s arboretum. The setting is a bit nostalgic as its was where Colleen first graduated from before heading off to Purdue.

One of the most common requests I get is for a FAMILY PORTRAIT session. The opportunity to create a family portrait is not only a time to get your family together but it is also a time for creating a little piece of history. This fall I will have my first “special” and its centered around Family Portraits. The fall provides a season full of amazing colours and tempertures that are comfortable. If you have a large extended family with 2+ generations in the family this is a must have for your family.

In addition to the special reduction on the session fee, I have an offer on Canvas Gallery Wraps. These prints are a excellent way to present your images in your home. We source the prints from a lab in Toronto which provide excellent quality and craftmanship.

This is an excellent way for your family and extended family to create a family heirloom for their family for generations. It also makes an excellent gift for your oldest generation.

Here is an example of how a group session would work:

Say you have 3 families in the portrait, you split the session fee 3 ways and each choose a Canvas Gallery Wrap for your home. Very cost effective. So the total shooting fee would be $42 each for the three families. They then each choose their individual canvas sizes.

Key steps:

secure the date with your extended family. (usually the most difficult part)
provide your extended family members with the link to this post for details.
call me to secure the date , advise how many families are involved.
deposit 50% of the shooting fee to secure your date
decide on the size and placement of your image(s) in your home prior to the shoot so you are comfortable of the placement.
inform your family of the staging of the image, what to wear,what not to wear.
discuss the look of the image,urban,classic,studio with Geoff
the shoot takes place and the families can select the portraits online.
Takes about 4 weeks after the final image selection to provide the final canvas prints.

This is a very cost effective way to create stunning images for your families.
